I am not the first, am I? This is just a test to see if there are any OxGrove Dems out there in today.

Ther is one more out here.

and another.
This may be a little bit much for this blog, but its killing me and somebody should step off and get this rolling. So, let me get my fingers in ranting position. ahhhh that's it. and GO!
How in the world is the Teflon of this administration holding up with Karl Rove's admitted disclosure of Valerie Plame??? And, the less publicized disclosure by Scooter Libby, one of VP Cheney's top aides. I know neither of them said her name, but conservative lackies in the media aren't that daft! Even they would guess that Joe Wilson has only one wife.
GWB said in September of 2003, "If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action" one day after our favorite "not quite Ari Fleischer" mouthpiece, Scott McClellan said, ""If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration." As if the transformation from that to the president's statements this week weren't bad enough, he was asked a question about this just last month. Bush was asked by a reporter if he stood by his, "pledge to fire anyone" involved in the leak. Our fearless leader responded with a wholehearted, confident, almost annoyed (in that fashion that only he can do so well) - Yes.
Let's put aside for a minute the law that states "intent" as a necessary part of the crime of disclosing an undercover agent which Rove's lawyer is clinging to like a drowning man to a life preserver. In March 2003, President Bush signed an executive order drafted by his office that re-establishes the handling of classified information - EO13292. Yes, less than 4 months before the disclosure. The executive order states that "appropriate and corrective" action should be taken against anyone who "knowingly, willfully, or negligently" discloses classified information. If that doesn't describe the situation at hand, I don't know what would. Yet, no banter in the press about that. None at all!
Now we are told repeatedly that nothing can/will be done as long as the investigation is ongoing. By Rove's admission through his attorney, and the testimony and interviews of Cooper, we know he outed her. Everybody knows it, including GW.
Not that we should really be that surprised given the record of this administration, but can nothing stick? Have we really gone that far down the path to oblivion that the same president who took us to war in Iraq on faulty information and incomplete analysis can say that nothing can or will be done in this situation because the investigation is ongoing, and no one even mentions the irony? Now that we're on to the nomination of Mr. Roberts to the Supreme Court, I guess this all will fall off the radar for a while anyway.
Admittedly, the outing of Valerie Plame probably had very little impact on world events or the condition of the country (to our knowledge at least). But if the administration can skate away on this when the limited impact of doing the right thing is putting Karl Rove out to pasture (or at least to the private sector), imagine the lengths they will go to for real issues. I really do have to get to Ohio soon and ask those voters who didn't make it to the polls what they were doing that was so important it prevented them from voting!
Bill,
Not only are you dead-on but also nicely said. This admin is not held to the same standards as previous. Can you imagine, for a second, what the right wing pundits, Fox News and Rush would have said if the WH was involved in the outing of an agent? Bill Clinton got his hair cut on the tarmac and he was slimed for a month.
I guess when you control Congress, the SC and the media is so spineless that it resembles Pravda under Breshnev, this is what you get. The horror.
Eric
Site is looking great, guys. Eric's name is misspelled on the home page, though.
Hey cats,
Bill's right, but we're here. We need to be concerned about our school board, the zoning, traffic. And we need to be watching for the bad guys. GOP tactics in peaceful places is to create distrust.
Look at the Republicanians' site: oxfordareagop.com. They take credit for the low price of our air, and list all the offices they want to take over so they can bankrupt our community of culture and independence.
Chester County was a hotbed of Revolution. And it was crucial to the growth of the early US. Now, after almost 20 years of Republicans forcing issues and national Democrats to the middle and the right, we see the only spot on earth with state-of-the art manufacturing is China. Our freedoms are being waved like bloody shirts, as if Civil Liberties were problems- respect for the Constitution expressed by the trimming of its Bill of Rights.
Let's have a party somewhere.
Joe
The Republican Party is corrupt. Bush was installed with millions of dollars from the Enron/Andersen Junta. Enron went on to nearly bankrupt California, stole half the money in half the mutual funds in the country, and was rewarded during its downfall with bankruptcy protection and credits in the top secret Bush Energy Policy. Anderson moved to Bermuda, where they enjoy the US Federal accounting contract.
Tom DeLay stole representation from us by inserting new Congressional districts with laundered money.
The same administration has already used treasonous violation of our national security to punish political detractors as in the case of Plame and Ambassador Wilson.
They're playing both sides against the middle, and we're the middle. They tell one constituency it's liberalism causing the terrible economy they trumpet as a victory. Meanwhile, Wall Street continues to call the shots and only benefits from this smokescreen as they demean our values by selling Christmas.
They call the New Deal a victory for communism (Judge Brown), and they pump bilions into communist China to ensure we'll have a worthy military foe to demonize later.
They, them, those... the others.
We need to vehemently attack and advertise. Those bastards are going to steal anothe election with their GO-GOP voting booths, misleading advertising and confusing doublespeak: Mission Accomplished, for example.
Remember, Bush didn't bat an eye when the told him about the Twin Towers. He read "My Pet Goat" to the end, because it's all about the campaign.
I'm interested Ricky’s rebirthas moderate, environmental, pragmatic when he agrees with Georgie.
But I can't forget Ricky's arguments against privacy on the Senate floor. Equating homosexuality with bestiality is hysterical. His book calls for an end to women in the workplace. Press materials for that book said it was extreme, but honest. So he's honestly moderately extreme? He can live in Virginia, represent Texas, and get paid in PA?
#3 in the RNC, Ricky IS the Republican Party. Ricky hates progressive movement in government. He IS a K Street/ Abramoff/ DeLay/ Ralph Reed Texas dung beetle RNC maniac.
This RNC botched Katrina by careful appointment of incompetents to leadership positions. Don’t forget Ricky's calls to disband the National Weather Service because the Weather Channel does the same thing. Georgie was told about Katrina to his face. We have it on video. It was hard to ignore, but Ricky, Georgie and the RNC frat pack met the challenge. TWC would have helped?
Now Ricky endorses generating fetuses he's comfortable with destroying in research. All you have to do is create a modified human! A real human like Terry Schiavo has no right to die, and stem-cell parts car people are good?
When he drives home from Washington, he goes south (like he actually drives!). Ricky would rebrand as a Pennsylvanian, but we can't forget everything he's said, done, participated in, where he lives or who he breaks bread with.
Good morning!
I registered to vote as an Independent when I turned 18. I didn't trust the 2-party control of every government in the land, and thought there should be more voices in politics. I was Green-leaning.
But I converted. I registered with the Dems at the Oxgrove grand opening. The Greens have been co-opted by the Santorum campaign in PA, which leaves the third party question pretty much answered for the near term.
I'm a critic, and I plan to post critical blurbs to help us understand who the bad guy2 are and what makes 'em bad. I'm also positive about a few things, and I want to help the Democratic Party's candidates increase their visibility, broadcast their message better and elbow their way back into the national dialog.
Hi Joe,
New blogmistress, here.
I'd love for you to post your thoughts and invite you to the coffee house open thread. It's closer to the top of the page, so more people might see them.
