No increase in Township property taxes.
A focus on road maintenance and repair.
Open and transparent decision-making, banishing any hint of favoritism and special
dealing.
Effective planning to protect the rural character and natural beauty of the
Township and to blunt increases in school taxes by
managing residential development; and ensuring a good match between commercial
development and the infrastructure to support it.
The previous Board, despite more
than doubling property tax rates in 2002, ran up nearly $130,000 in deficits
over the following three years. When I joined the Board in January 2006, virtually
all our cash reserves were gone. Despite the challenging economy, Township finances
today are solid.
